Chinese officials give strong warning to India

BEIJING – China on Wednesday holding responsible for escalating asituation at Line of Actual Control (LAC) warned India to take correctivemeasures to normalize the tense situation while disengaging on the groundfrom any misadventure.

“What is imperative for the Indian side is to address the mistakes and tocarry out disengagement on the ground and take concrete actions” ChineseForeign Ministry Spokesperson, Wang Wenbin told reporters during hisregular briefing.

While reiterating Chinese stand on current conflict with India at the Lineof Actual Control (LAC) in Laddakh, he said, China’s position on the issueis very clear and consistent.

“From the Chinese side, we have been honoring the agreements signed betweenChina and India. We are committed to peace and stability in the borderarea,s.” he added.

The spokesperson however made it clear that the Chinese side was committedto its sovereignty and territorial integrity and said China was not to beblame for the current standoff.

Wang blamed India for breaching agreements saying that the Indian troopsfirst trespassed the Chinese territory and opened fire to threaten thesafety of the Chinese borders and troops.

The spokesperson said that during the Moscow meeting, the Foreign Ministerof China and India agreed to five points agreement to normalize the bordersituation.

“We hope India will work with China and honor the recent peace agreement aswell as previously reached agreements.” he added.

“China is ready to continue the consultation with Indian side throughdiplomatic and military channels and jointly we ensure peace andtranquility in the border areas.” he said.

Wang made the remarks after Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh in his aspeech on Tuesday asserted that the border dispute with China remains“unresolved” for now, and blamed China for violating the border agreementwith India.
