ISLAMABAD – PTI government has taken important decisions over the Kashmircause.
Pakistan has drafted a strongly worded resolution against the ongoingIndian atrocities in the Held Kashmir, which would be tabled at a meetingof the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) contact group on Kashmirin New York on September 26.
Foreign Office Spokesman Dr Faisal said this would be an extraordinarysession of the OIC contact group on Kashmir on the sidelines of the UNGAwhich has been convened to discuss the current situation in the occupiedvalley.
The resolution highlights the current wave of terrorism by Indian forces inthe Held Kashmir and calls upon the international community and the UN totake practical steps for an urgent solution to the issue. “The meetingwould be attended by AJK leadership as well as Hurriyat leaders from theIndian-held Kashmir, provided Indian government permits them to travel,”the spokesman said, adding that the meeting would take place at the UNheadquarters and all members of the OIC contact group will attend.
In addition to this, Pakistan will also raise the Kashmir issue at the UNGAwhere Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi would deliver his speech.Qureshi will also raise the Kashmir issue during meetings with hiscounterparts from other countries. “The resolution which will be adopted atthe OIC contact group will be handed over to the UN secretary general’srepresentative for record,” the spokesman said.
