PM Imran Khan holds high level meeting, vows to restore old glory of Karachi

KARACHI – Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed the determination torestore the old glory of Karachi as city of lights and economic hub of thecountry.

He was presiding over a high level meeting in Karachi today to reviewprogress made so far on federal government funded projects and law andorder in the city.

President Dr Arif Alvi, Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, Chief Minister SyedMurad Ali Shah, Corps Commander Karachi, DG Rangers Sindh and other highofficials attended the meeting.

The Prime Minister said that initiating cleanliness and water projects inthe city is his top most priority.

He was briefed about green line mass transit project, K-IV and S-IIIdrinking and sewerage water projects in Karachi.

Imran Khan lauded the role of Police and Rangers in establishing peace inKarachi.

The Prime Minister directed the authorities concerned to complete theongoing development projects in Karachi at the earliest to facilitate thepeople.

Earlier, On his arrival in Karachi, the Prime Minister Imran Khan wasreceived by Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and Chief Minister Syed Murad AliShah.

The Prime Minister soon after arrival visited the mausoleum of Quaid-e-AzamMuhammad Ali Jinnah to pay respect to father of the nation.

He also visited Mazar of Madr-e-Millat Mohtarama Fatima Jinnah andShaheed-e-Millat Liaqat Ali Khan.

Prime Minister also planted a sapling at State Guest House as part ofNational Tree Plantation Campaign.

He is also scheduled to attend a fund raising dinner at Governor House tosupport the construction of Diamer Bhasha Dam.
