*ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has gifted 360 tons wheat to Afghanistan as a gestureof goodwill.*
The wheat was handed over to Afghan authorities at Pakistan-Afghanistanborder near Torkham on Saturday afternoon.
It may be recalled that the former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasiduring his visit to Kabul in April this year had announced a gift of40,000kg wheat for Afghanistan.
Afghan authorities have welcomed this friendly gesture of Pakistan.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Saturday traveled to Kabul on adaylong visit to hold bilateral talks with Afghan president Ashraf Ghaniand other senior officials.
This is his first foreign visit since he assumed office of the chiefdiplomat of Pakistan on Aug 20.
