A factory blast in Russia’s Ryazan region on Friday killed 11 people and injured 130, the country’s emergencies ministry reported on Saturday.
In a Telegram statement, the ministry said rescuers were continuing to search through the rubble at the blast site, located 320 km (198 miles) southeast of Moscow.
Ryazan region Governor Pavel Malkov stated on Friday that the explosion was triggered by a fire in a workshop at the factory.
The cause of the fire remains unclear, and it is not known what the factory produced. Ukrainian drones have previously targeted military and economic infrastructure in the Ryazan region. Some Russian media outlets suggested that the blast may have been caused by gunpowder catching fire.
