Two Policemen Martyred in a Terrorist Attack in KP

Two police personnel were martyred in a terrorist firing incident near a police checkpost in Dera Ismail Khan. The terrorists attempted to flee the scene but were intercepted by security forces. In the ensuing exchange of fire, one militant was killed and two others were injured.

The tragic attack took place in the Kulachi area near the Yadgar checkpost. According to police sources, the martyred officers—identified as Gul Muhammad and Shehzad Khan—were stationed at the checkpost and were heading toward a nearby shop when they were ambushed by gunmen lying in wait. Their bodies were shifted to Kulachi Hospital.

Following the attack, the terrorists tried to escape on a motorcycle, but police responded swiftly. A retaliatory operation led to the death of one terrorist and injuries to two others. A Kalashnikov rifle along with a significant amount of ammunition was recovered from the slain militant.

Security forces immediately sealed off the area and launched a comprehensive search operation. The operation, jointly led by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and district police, is ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects and secure the area.

According to authorities, the weapons seized indicate that the terrorists were planning a major attack. Security officials confirmed that operations against terrorist elements and their facilitators have been intensified and more arrests are expected soon.
