Kalat Bus Attack Perpetrators to Pay a ‘Heavy Price’: PM Shehbaz Vows

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday condemned the deadly terrorist attack on a passenger bus in Balochistan’s Kalat district, vowing that those responsible would “pay a very heavy price.”

At least three passengers were martyred and seven others injured in the attack on a bus traveling from Karachi to Quetta. Officials linked the assault to the Indian-backed terrorist group Fitna-ul-Hindustan, according to ARY News.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif both expressed profound grief over the loss of innocent lives and offered their heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families. They also prayed for the recovery of the injured and directed authorities to ensure immediate and proper medical assistance.

President Zardari strongly condemned the targeting of civilians, calling it a “barbaric and inhumane act.” He emphasized that such attacks were aimed at destabilizing Balochistan and disrupting national peace, branding the perpetrators as “enemies of humanity.”

In a statement issued by the PM Office, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said:

“The terrorists who harm innocent civilians will face severe consequences. They will be made to pay a very heavy price.”

Both the president and the prime minister reaffirmed the state’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism.

“With the support of the nation, we will root out the cancer of terrorism from our soil,” the President’s Secretariat stated.
