Gas Supply to Punjab Disrupted as Terrorists Bomb Pipeline

In Lakki Marwat, unidentified terrorists have once again targeted the main gas pipeline supplying Punjab, blowing it up with explosives. The powerful blast was heard over a wide area. A large contingent of police and relevant department officials quickly reached the site. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Saddar Police Station, leading to a major disruption in gas supply.

Security forces immediately cordoned off the area and launched an investigation. Authorities stated that damage assessments and repair work would begin shortly, and security measures around the pipeline are being intensified. According to police officials, this pipeline has been targeted multiple times in the past.

Earlier incidents had also resulted in supply cuts to Punjab, with law enforcement and gas officials working on-site to restore the line. Investigations are still underway to identify and apprehend those responsible for the latest attack. Officials condemned the act, describing it as an attempt to destabilize the region and disrupt the energy supply chain.

Just a week ago, terrorists had blown up the same section of the pipeline, and similar attacks have taken place at different locations before. Police had also launched investigations into those previous incidents.

Due to the fact that the pipeline runs through remote and uninhabited areas, it has become a frequent target of sabotage. Assistant spokesperson for the District Police Officer, Qudratullah, confirmed that the explosion caused a large fire and significant gas leakage. The attack took place in the Torwah seasonal riverbed area. He further added that security forces reached the location promptly, secured the area, and mobilized emergency teams to control the fire and assess the scale of the damage.
