Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi has made a century of wickets in 26 Testmatches.The star pacer hit the 100-wicket mark by dismissing NishanMadhushka in the second over of the first Test of the two-match seriesagainst Sri Lanka in Galle.
Shaheen Afridi has become the 19th player of the Green Shirts to haverecorded a century of wickets in red ball cricket.
The pace spearhead had moved to 99 wickets in 25 Tests at the same venuelast year when a knee injury put him out of action.
He officially made a comeback to Test cricket on Sunday, when he opened thebowling for the Green Shirts on the day one of the first Test at the ICCWorld Test Championship 2023-25.
“I am very excited to be making my Test comeback in the country where I wasinjured,” he had said before bowling at the two-day warm-up fixture againstthe hosts at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium.
It is to be noted here that Pakistan and Sri Lanka are playing the firstmatch of the two-match Test series in Galle.
