Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and former president Asif Ali Zardari held ameeting at the residence of the PM in the Model Town area of Lahore onSaturday.Shehbaz accorded a warm welcome to Asif Ali Zardari.
Sources said the two leaders deliberated upon the ongoing politicalsituation and the matters of caretaker setup and National Assemblydissolution.
They fully agreed to conduct the election on time, the insiders said,adding that they stressed the delay in the election won’t be toleratedunder any circumstances.
Asif Ali Zardari suggested dissolving the assembly in the second week ofAugust, the sources said, adding that Shehbaz Sharif assured him of takingother allies into confidence on the proposal.
The insiders said the two leaders laid stress on bringing in a politicianinstead of a bureaucrat as the caretaker prime minister.
