PM Imran Khan expresses disappointment over allegations levelled against Pakistan from Afghan side

Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed disappointment over the allegationsagainst Pakistan from the Afghan side. He said to blame Pakistan for whatis happening in Afghanistan is extremely unfair.

He expressed these views while addressing the conference in Tashkent onFriday.

He said no country has tried harder to get the Taliban on the dialoguetable than Pakistan. He said we have made every effort to get the Talibanon the dialogue table and have a peaceful settlement.

He said that regional peace and stability is vital for enhanced trade andeconomic cooperation in the region.

The prime minister said the Afghan situation and unresolved disputes arethe key challenges to peace and stability in the region.

He said Afghanistan is the natural land bridge between Central Asia andSouth Asia, and peace in Afghanistan is the most critical factor forregional connectivity.

Imran Khan said Pakistan’s foremost priority is the stability inAfghanistan as it directly affects us. He said Pakistan will continue tosupport all initiatives for peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan. Hesaid we encourage all the neighbours and international stakeholders fortheir positive roles for a political settlement in Afghanistan.

The prime minister categorically stated that Pakistan is a partner in peace.
