Pakistan’s DG ISI rejects allegations levelled by Afghan President Ashraf Ghani

TASHKENT – Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) LieutenantGeneral Faiz Hameed Friday rejected the allegations made by AfghanPresident Ashraf Ghani regarding infiltration from Pakistan.

The top spymaster stated this while talking to a Pakistani private newschannel in Tashkent where he is attending the Central and South AsiaConference 2021 along with Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is visitingUzbekistan on two-day long visit.

Ghani, during his address at the conference, leveled baseless allegationsagainst Pakistan and claimed that 10,000 fighters had crossed over intoAfghanistan from the neighbouring country.

In fact, the DG ISI responded, infiltration was being made from Afghanistan.

“Pakistan desires peace in the neighbouring country as a durable peaceAfghanistan is in the interest of the region,” he said. “We do not supportany faction in Afghanistan,” he added.

Pakistan wants negotiated settlement of the Afghan issue, he further said.
