FAISALABAD – Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhrylands in hot waters over issue of slapping journalist Sami Ibrahim.
Minister for Science and Technology, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain was named in acomplaint after he slapped anchorperson Sami Abraham on Friday.
The incident took place during a wedding ceremony in Faisalabad wherein theminister exchanged heated comments with Bol TV anchor, Sami Ibrahim beforeslapping him in front of everyone.
A police complaint lodged by Sami Abraham states he was in Dynasty Hotel toattend the wedding ceremony of Mian Rasheed’s daughter when the incidenthappened.
Sami Ibrahim, in his application, requested the authorities to take legalaction against Fawad Chaudhry for abusing him and threatening him of direconsequences.
Fellow journalists Arshad Sharif, Rauf Klasra, DG FIA Basheer Memon and PTIlawmaker Farrukh Habib were also present among others in the ceremony whenFawad Chaudhry slapped Sami Ibrahim.

As soon as the journalists expressed sympathy with Sami Abraham, theminister contended that journalism was in danger because of yellowjournalists, calling for a campaign against it.
Journalists, including Rauf Klasra, confirmed the incident on Twitterlink and expresseddismay at the minister for insulting the anchorperson.
In an interaction with a private TV channel, Fawad Ch played down theincident and expressed that the premier had more vital issues to think overinstead of the recent clash between him and Abraham.
