ISLAMABAD – Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has approved oneproject worth 385.135 million rupees and recommended four worth 123.6billion rupees to ECNEC for consideration.
Meeting of the CDWP was held in Islamabad on Thursday with PlanningMinister Khusro Bakhtiar in the chair.
Government of Sindh presented project “Karachi Urban Mobility Project(Yellow Line)” worth 61436.00 million rupees which was recommended to ECNECfor consideration.
Planning Minister Khusro Bakhtiar said the incumbent government iscommitted to development of Karachi and the completion of project willprovide travelling facilities to the people of the city. He added theproject is closely aligned to the Federal Government’s manifesto andobjectives with urban development and green growth.
Another important project of Government of Sindh “Karachi Water & SewerageServices Improvement Project Phase-1” worth 14729.27 million rupees wasalso recommended to ECNEC for consideration. The project will facilitateimprove the capacity of Karachi Water & Sewerage Board to provide betterwater and sanitation services to the residents of Karachi.
The second project related to transport “Construction of Expressway on EastBay of Gwadar Port (Revised)” worth 17369.84 million rupees was presentedby Ministry of Maritime Affairs which was referred to ECNEC forconsideration. The project envisages construction of 18.98 km four lanedivided limited access expressway integrating Gwadar Port with the MakranCoastal Highway as well as with its Free Zone and future containerterminals.
Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa presented a project “KP IrrigatedAgriculture Improvement Project” worth 30048.747 million rupees which wasrecommended to ECNEC for consideration.
Ministry of National Health, Services, Regulation & Coordination presenteda project “Up-gradation of Gastroenterology Department/Replacement ofEquipment for advanced Liver and GI diseases, PIMS, Islamabad” worth385.135 million rupees which was accorded approval by the CDWP.
Two position papers ‘construction of Delay Action Dams inBalochistan-Package III’ and ‘Lahore Garment City’ worth 716.63 millionrupees were also considered. Both were accorded approval for furtherprocessing.
