Lots of surprises in store for PM Imran Khan, claims top leader

Pakistan Muslim League-Q leader Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has claimed that theopposition has the “more than required” lawmakers to pass the no-confidencemotion against Prime Minister Imran Khan in the National Assembly.

In an interview with a local news channel on Tuesday, he also warned therewere “plenty of surprises in store.”

Elahi commented on PPP Chairperson Asif Ali Zardari’s claim that theopposition had more than 172 lawmakers’ support in the NA and said, “He[Zardari] is right. They have the required number. Even have more than whatone can imagine. This is what we have assessed and seen.”

The PML-Q is an ally of the PTI government in Punjab. On the other hand, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) – an alliance of the oppositionparties, including PML-N, PPP, and JUI-F – seeks its votes to dislodge thegovernment as the party has five NA seats.

Blaming the PTI government for its position, the PML-Q leader said it neverlearned how to build ties and instead “ruined things with everyone, including its own people.”

According to Elahi, the opposition had offered him Punjab’s chiefministership, but the government had yet to make that offer.

“The wait is that what would the government do. Maybe the government mightdo the same,” he said when asked why he was not accepting the opposition’soffer.
