The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council has approvedKarachi Circular Railway project worth 201 billion rupees.

The meeting of the ECNEC was presided over by Federal Minister for Financeand Revenue Shaukat Tarin in Islamabad today.

The project envisages construction of a 43.2 kilometers dual track urbanmass transit system to be built in a period of three years.

Karachi Circular Railways Management Company will be responsible to keep anoversight related to the execution, operation and maintenance of theproject.
