ISLAMABAD – Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) hasapproved a project worth 12480 million rupees to modernize Federal Board ofRevenue and broaden the tax base.
Its meeting chaired by Adviser on Finance Hafeez Sheikh was held inIslamabad on Monday.
Under this project titled Pakistan Raises Revenue, the FBR will be equippedwith advanced ICT based operations.
The meeting approved construction of Eastern Wastewater Treatment Plant ofFaisalabad City at a total cost of 19, 071.22 million rupees. The foreigncomponent of the project includes loan and grant from the government ofDenmark amounting to 17, 238.179 million rupees.
It approved 14430.506 million rupees for the execution of Lahore Water andWaste Water Management Project from Larech Colony to Gulshan-e-Ravi.

The ECNEC approved The Winder Dam Project at the total cost of 15,230.76million rupees. It will be constructed across Winder River in DistrictLasbela Balochistan.
The meeting also approved 22,921 million rupees for the completion ofremaining works of Phase-1 of Kachhi Canal project in District Dera Bugti,Balochistan.
Ex-Post Facto approval was given for the development of Gurdwara KartarpurSahib at a modified cost of 16546.2 million rupees.
