New Zealand mosque shooting: Number of missing Pakistanis rise, reveals FO

ISLAMABAD – The Foreign Office reported on Saturday that nine Pakistanisare missing since the terror attack in two mosques in Christchurch, NewZealand.

FO spokesperson took to his Twitter handle and revealed that ninePakistanis are missing since the shootings on Friday, in two mosques ofChristchurch. The spokesperson has listed the names of the missingPakistanis along with some details.

The list of the missing persons includes the names of three persons missingfrom the same family. The family member’s sons name is Zeeshan Raza whoalong with his father and mother are missing. Haroon Mahmood, SohailShahid, Syed Areeb Ahmed, Syed Jahanand Ali, Talha Naeem and Naeem Rashidare also missing.

The FO has added details of some of the missing persons including theirdate of birth and areas of residency.

“Our Mission in New Zealand is trying to ascertain further details,” Faisaladded. Earlier the spokesperson had revealed that Muhammad Amin Nasir,68, from Hafizabad was injured and is in critical condition.

On Friday, 49 were killed when two mosques, Masjid al Noor in centralChristchurch and the other one in suburban Linwood, packed with worshippersfor Friday prayers came under attack. A 28-year-old Australian-born man,Brenton Tarrant, has been charged with murder.
