ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Interior Talal Chaudhary on Friday apprisedthe Senate that some 90,838 Pakistanis had been deported during the lastthree years from various countries.

Responding to questions during Question Hour session, the minister said outof the total 28,432 Pakistanis were deported during 2017, 32,996 in 2016and 29,410 in 2015.

Regarding action taken against the deportees and agents, the minister said6,594 persons were arrested besides registering 3,944 FIRs during the saidperiod.

He said some 5,293 were convicted and 78 were acquitted during the lastthree years.

To another question, Talal said as many as 3388 persons were arrested onaccount of human trafficking and smuggling during last three years. – APP
