ISLAMABAD – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman to approve highprofile inquiries and investigations in graft cases across country.
Justice retired justice Javed Iqbal on Thursday is presiding over thebureau’s Executive Board meeting in Islamabad to examine severalreferences, inquiries and investigations pertaining to graft cases in thecountry.
Reportedly, the accountability watchdog is likely to approve references,inquiries and investigations concerning several corruption allegations.
The NAB chief has said that priority of NAB was to eradicate corruptionfrom the country besides recovering the looted money from plunderers.
“NAB is now concentrating on taking mega corruption cases to their logicalconclusion,” he has stated.
He has revealed that 1,275 corruption references involving Rs943 billionwere currently being heard in different accountability courts of thecountry.
By pursuing the policy of “Accountability for All”, he has said, the NABhas been striving to recover billions of rupees looted from the generalpublic.
