China seeks sugar import from Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Sartaj Aziz saysChina-Pakistan Economic Corridor is at a take-off stage and all politicalparties and the people of Pakistan are extending their full support to thisframework of national development.

Talking to Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said weneed to focus on the software side that includes policies, agendas, andstrategies and our current focus is to build industrial parks.

The Deputy Chairman said with the region’s economic success, the balance ofpower will shift from West to East and, Asia will become engine of growth.

The Chinese Ambassador said there is a great possibility of sugar export asit is in surplus in Pakistan.

On this occasion, Sartaj Aziz said that besides sugar, China can promotePakistani products including meat, fish, fruits and vegetables for itsdomestic use.
