Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar stated on Thursday that he intends to exercise his constitutional authority concerning the national security issue of extending the Director-General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI), as reported by ARY News.
During an interview on ARY News' program 'Khabar,' PM Kakar neither confirmed nor denied the decision regarding the DG ISI's extension. He emphasized that this matter is not something that can be openly discussed, as it pertains to national security.
PM Kakar affirmed his commitment to following the law in all government activities, suggesting that elections may occur soon but refrained from specifying a date. He assured that the caretaker government would adhere to legal principles, regardless of its duration.
Regarding the concerns of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the decisions made by the Council for Common Interests (CCI), PM Kakar declined to provide any statements.
Regarding the decline in the US dollar's value, PM Kakar stated that the caretaker government's focus is on combating illegal activities nationwide and suggested that the USD might have dropped to Rs250 due to actions against these illegal activities
