ISLAMABAD - Leader of the House Shibli Faraz has said there is no bar on issuance of ordinances in the constitution as the government promulgates laws in public interest.
Winding up discussion regarding promulgation of various ordinances, especially the decision to dissolve PMDC, he said the government has taken this step to regulate the medical profession in accordance with the international standard.
Shibli Faraz said the opposition should cooperate in reforming various sectors pertaining to public welfare. He mentioned that previous governments of the PPP and the PML-N had promulgated 104 and 46 ordinances respectively during their tenure. He said PTI government believes in serving the masses and reforming various sectors the people of Pakistan.
Regarding price hike, he said the government is taking measures to improve supply of the essential items to facilitate people.
The House has now been prorogued.
