ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan will begin formal training of District Returning Officers and Returning Officers for the upcoming general elections today.
A spokesman of the Election Commission in a press briefing in Islamabad said that process of training District Returning Officers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan will start from Tuesday (May 15) at Peshawar and Quetta.
The event will be inaugurated by Justice Mrs. Irshad Qaiser and Justice Shakeel Ahmad Baloch.
Similarly, the training of District Returning Officers of Punjab will start tomorrow which will be inaugurated by Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan.
On the same day, the training of District Returning Officers of Sindh will also start which will be inaugurated by Member ECP Abdul Ghaffar Soomro.
The training of Returning Officers will start from Thursday which will continue till the end of this month.
In all, one hundred and thirty three District Returning Officers and eight hundred and forty nine Returning Officers will be imparted training.
During the training, the District Returning Officers and Returning Officers will be introduced with new Election Laws and RMS Result Management System.
Provincial Election Commissioners will take oath from District Returning Officers under section 56 of the new Election Laws, which is first time in the history of the country.
Internationally trained experts and professionals will conduct the training courses.
