Rs 400 million set aside for tourism

ISLAMABAD-The Punjab government has allocated Rs 400 million as development budget for tourism in the financial year 2020-21, with a vision to make Punjab an attractive tourist destination through inclusive planning, diversification, development and management of tourist destinations in an organized manner.
According to the budget documents, Rs 340 million have been earmarked for 22 ongoing schemes,and Rs 60 million for 23 new schemes.
Some of the new initiatives include construction of building for tourism and hospitality college and tourist hostel at TDCP land Harbanspura; development of heritage and recreational park at Hiran Minar district Sheikhupura; rehabilitation and upgradation of TDCP resorts at Jallo Park Lahore and construction of terminal for sightseeing bus service in Rawalpindi.
