ISLAMABAD: Maryam Nawaz’s legal team has prepared her appeal against the accountability court’s verdict that sentenced her to seven years in jail in the Avenfield case.
Maryam and her father, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, arrived in Lahore on July 13 night and were taken to the Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.
Her team of lawyers is expected to reach Adiala Jail in a while.
According to reports, Maryam signed some legal papers that her lawyers needed for the appeal.
She is appealing the accountability court’s verdict on the basis that there are legal flaws in the judgment that sentenced her to seven years in jail even though they could not prove that she was involved in corruption. APP/AFP
