Ministry of Foreign Affairs photo exhibition on Independence day

ISLAMABAD (APP): Ministry of Foreign Affairs Women Association (MFAWA) Sunday arranged a photo exhibition here to mark the 70th Independence Day.

At the exhibition, 32 works of 11 artists from across the country were put on display.

The event was attended among others by Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Foreign Affairs Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, diplomats from various countries and their families.

Among the artists whose paintings were showcased included Amjid Butt, Ayesha Kamal, Saima Ashfq, Makhtoom, Rizram, Aiab Khan, Nisar, Abdul Jabbar, Hamid Alivi, Sulahri and Ajab Khan.

Addressing the participants, Sartaj Aziz said the poetry of Allama Muhammad Iqbal thought equality and renewal of commitment to work for progress, prosperity and development of the country.

"Iqbal's poetry is a source of knowledge and enlightenment for every one," he added.

The Advisor said that Allama Muhammad Iqbal had written letters to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah for creation of a country where Muslims could practice their faiths freely.

The Secretary Foreign Affairs greeted the nation on the Independence Day and said Sartaj Aziz was lucky to shake hand with the Quaid-i-Azam besides. participating in the Pakistan Movement.

Both the Adviser and Secretary Foreign Affairs cut the Independence Day cake along with other guests.
