CANBERRA – Australia has recognized west Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.Prime Minister Scott Morrison said that his country will not shift itsembassy from Tel Aviv until a peace settlement is achieved.
He said that Australia is also committed to recognizing a future state ofPalestine with east Jerusalem as its capital.
Australia became one of just a few governments around the world to followUS President Donald Trump’s lead and recognize the contested city asIsrael’s capital.
