NEW DELHI – Intelligence Bureau (IB) Director Rajiv Jain and Research &Analysis Wing (RAW) Secretary Anil K Dhasmana have been given a six-monthextension to their tenures , a government order said Friday.
Both Jain and Dhasmana had a two-year tenure that would end later thismonth.
The decision to extend the tenure of the two intelligence chiefs was takendue to the forthcoming general election by the Prime Minister-ledAppointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). The Centre wanted a newgovernment to take a decision on appointments on these key posts, officialssaid.
Dhasmana, a 1981 batch officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre, has beenworking with the RAW for 23 years, during which he served in importantareas, including the Pakistan Desk. The RAW is tasked with gatheringexternal intelligence.
