LAHORE – The Airport Security Force (ASF) on Saturday foiled moneylaundering bids by two passengers at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal InternationalAirport.
One passenger, a 31-year-old Chinese woman was taken into custody with$22,505 cash, according to a report in the local media.
The suspect was identified as Lizhen Wu, who was travelling to Bangkokthrough an international flight.
Another Bangkok-bound passenger, who is yet to be named, was detained atairport for carrying $39,100 cash.
In October, ASF had arrested a Chinese passenger for alleged currencysmuggling at Lahore airport.
The foreign national, who is going to Bangkok via an international airline,was held during checking at the Allama Iqbal International Airportfollowing the recovery of foreign currency worth Rs2.5 million.
