ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has lodged strong protest with Afghanistan over delayin handing over body of martyred SP Tahir Khan Dawar.
Superintendent Police Tahir Khan Dawar’s body will be brought home toPeshawar via Torkham border in a helicopter, the information minister ofKhyber Pakhtunkhwa said on Thursday.
Information Minister KP Shaukat Yousufzai informed that he will bereceiving the martyred police officer’s body at the border, and will beaccompanied by Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi.
SP Tahir Dawar, who went missing from Islamabad on October 27, was founddead in Nangarhar two days ago. His martyrdom was confirmed by the Afghangovernment earlier this week.
Pakistan earlier lodged a protest with Afghanistan over the delay inhanding over SP Dawar’s body.
“We summoned the Afghan diplomat to the Foreign Office twice,” ForeignOffice spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal said during his weekly pressbriefing in Islamabad today.
