45 Afghan policemen including police chief killed by Afghan Taliban

KABUL – 45 Afghan forces including the Police Chief have been killed inAfghanistan by Taliban.

As per media report, 45 policemen have been killed in an overnight attackon an Afghan police outpost in western Farah province, officials saidThursday.

The onslaught on the outpost in Farah’s district of Khaki Safed began lateon Wednesday and continued for more than four hours, the 1TV reported.

The district’s police chief, Abdul Jabar, was also killed in the latestattack.

Retaliatory airstrikes killed 17 Taliban fighters but the insurgents stillmanaged to get away with a huge cache of weapons and ammunition.

Three days ago, at least 29 police and eight civilians were killed afterthe insurgents attacked Khost village of the district.

Meanwhile, the Khak-e-Safed military base which was transferred to TapeSurkh area of the district has fallen to militants.
