Pakistan team to undergo major batting lineup shake in match against Australia

After Pakistan’s clinical defeat to India in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, both cricketing experts and fans areurging changes in the Pakistan team. This marked Pakistan’s first loss inthe tournament as they were convincingly defeated by arch-rivals India,losing by seven wickets.

Despite the batting-friendly conditions, Babar Azam’s team, who battedfirst, seemed poised to score over 300 runs with Babar Azam andwicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan on the crease. However, the momentum shiftedin India’s favor when pacer Mohammed Siraj dismissed Babar Azam, triggeringa collapse that led to Pakistan’s dismissal for 191 in 42.5 overs.

In the chase, India’s captain Rohit Sharma played a spectacular innings,scoring 86 runs. The two-time champions successfully chased down the targetin just 30.3 overs with seven wickets in hand, maintaining their undefeatedrecord against Pakistan in the history of the tournament.

Former cricketer Basit Ali said Pakistan needs to bring changes in thebatting order. In the ARY News show Har Lamhaa Purjosh, he gave hissuggestion on which batter can be the ideal opener.

He said Pakistan should play with a batter who can score quick runs in theearly stages. He said that the current batters in the playing XI play witha strategy of scoring run-a-ball.

He suggested Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan or Salman Ali Agha should open theinnings, whereas Saud Shakeel could bat at number three.

Basit Ali said other sides are playing the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 withfive pacers, but Pakistan have four fast bowlers.
