Saudi Arabia faces a big setback

RIYADH – Saudi Arabia faces a big setback as half of the production of 5millions barrels per day has been halted after the drone strike on staterun largest oil refinery.

Two plants at the heart of Saudi Arabia’s oil industry, including theworld’s biggest petroleum processing facility, in a strike had disruptedoutput and exports.

5 million barrels per day of crude production were impacted — close to halfof the kingdom’s output or 5% of global oil supply. Another source saidsome production was shut down as a precaution and that most of the lostoutput capacity would resume within days.

The pre-dawn drone attack on the Saudi Aramco facilities set off severalfires, although the kingdom, the world’s largest oil exporter, later saidthese were brought under control.
