*ISLAMABAD – Pakistan civil and military huddle has taken importantdecisions over the national security matters.*
*The important meeting was held ahead of crucial visits of top officials toKabul and Riyadh.*
*Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired the high-level meeting with topcivil-military brass in presence.*
*Security situation of the country was reviewed.*
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) GeneralQamar Javed Bajwa, Director General Inter Services Intelligence (ISI)Director General Lt General Naveed Mukhtar, secretary foreign ministry andother high officials were also present.
Sources privy to the meeting said PM Imran stated that Pakistan wished forpeace, stability and development in the region.
“However, sovereignty and autonomy of Pakistan will be on first priorityand the bilateral ties will not be made at the cost of any damage to theinterests of Pakistan,” he said.
The Prime Minister House spokesperson said different points of agenda aboutthe foreign minister’s upcoming one-day visit to Kabul were discussed andconsensus was evolved on Pakistan’s desire for friendly relations with allthe neighboring countries on equal basis.
“Stability and peace in Afghanistan is guarantor of peace in Pakistan andwe are ready for cooperation in this regard,” the meeting decided.
The top forum also reviewed recent visits of ministers from China, SaudiArabia, Turkey and the United States and exchanged views on ties with thecountries.
The meeting also discussed relations with India.
