Supreme Court grills former Railways Minister Saad Rafique

ISLAMABAD – The Supreme Court resumed hearing a case pertaining tomonetary losses suffered by Pakistan Railways at Lahore registry onSaturday.

Former railways minister Khawaja Saad Rafique was also present in court.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar asked Saad Rafique if he hadread the audit report.

Saad said that how he could submit the reply on 1000-page audit report.

The CJ asked Saad Rafiuqe to leave arrogance at home. “I am not here to beinsulted,” Rafique said, reminding the court that the code of conduct forjudges does not allow them to insult anyone.

Assuring the former minister that he was not being insulted, Justice Nisarsaid, “It seems that you have come here to insult the court. Just respondto the question you have been asked.”

In response, Rafique said that he had come to the court to be appreciatedbut all he had received was an admonishment.

Justice Ejazul Ahsan asked the former minister to submit the report andthen they would see whether to appreciate or not.
