PM in waiting Imran Khan to set yet another new example in the political history of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan to set yetanother new example in the history of Pakistan.

Khan is likely to wear an old sherwani while taking oath as the primeminister of Pakistan on August 18, a big day of his political life.

Following election triumph, an order was given to renowned tailoring shop,Jalil Tailors and Drapers, which is famous stitching the ceremonial dressfor previous rulers of the country, for a sherwani for Imran Khan.

However, the order was later revised to stitching a waistcoat for the PTIchief but later it was also cancelled, a leading English daily reported.

It was observed on the inaugural session of the lower house of theparliament that Khan borrowed waistcoat of a photographer for a NationalAssembly card picture.

PTI sources told the newspaper that Khan would clad white shalwar qameezand sherwani while taking the oath following the tradition of founder ofPakistan Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. They added that the primeminister in waiting will, however, wear old sherwani by breaking thetradition of stitching a new one.

Jailil Talior and Drapers, which had stitched the ceremonial dress forprevious rulers of the country, including General Ziaul Haq, Ghulam IshaqKhan, Nawaz Sharif and General Musharraf, has confirmed that the order forthe sherwani has been cancelled by the PTI as Imran Khan wants austerity toprevail all levels.

Jalil, who owns the shop, said that they have just received an order fortailoring a gown for the speaker after the July 25 elections. He, however,added that the bridal sherwani of Imran Khan on his marriage with RehamKhan was stitched by them.
