KABUL – US Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau for Southand Central Asian Affairs Alice Wells announced the US approval of Kabulapplication for exempting Chabahar Port from the US sanctions.
Chabahar port exempted from US sanctionsShe made the remarks in a meeting with Afghan Foreign Minister SalahuddinRabbani on Monday.
Rabbani, for his part, appreciated the US for continuing assistance to hiscountry.
Referring to Afghanistan Peace Talks, he said that internal and regionalconsensus play significant role in achieving sustainable peace.
Alice Wells arrived in Kabul on Sunday and has so far held talks withPresident Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive of Afghanistan AbdullahAbdullah. – APP/IRNA
