LAHORE  – The onset of the summer season has exposed the power shortfall in the country yet again.

Power shortfall in the country surpassed 5000MW on Monday.

Electricity demand has reached 19,600MW whereas the production capacity sustains at 14,300MW. The loadshedding in duration in rural areas have been extended.

On the other hand, power outages in urban areas have become a routine due to repeated occurrence of technical faults.
