Iranian border police arrests 70 illegal Pakistani immigrants

ISLAMABAD – Iranian border police have handed over 70 illegal Pakistaniimmigrants to authorities at Taftan border post in Chagai district ofBalochistan.

The Pakistani workers had been arrested from different parts of Iran byIranian security forces for not having travel documents.

After completion of formal procedure, the Levies Force handed over theimmigrants to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

Pakistanis living in Iran illegally or trying to enter Iran illegally arecaught every year by Iranian police.Iran often deports Pakistanis entering the country without travel documents.

Iranian authorities have reopened the Pakistan-Iran border gate on theTaftan border in Chagaidistrict after a month-long closure.

According to official sources, the border gate was closed because of Naurozholidays last month.

Via a 15-day special permit, known as Raahdari, issued by the districtadministration, people from the border districts on both sides can crossover to meet their relatives on the other side.
