Federal government launches multiple new initiatives under new National Anti Narcotics Pokicy 2019

ISLAMABAD – Ministry of Narcotics Control has planned to develop trainingcentres based ondifferent mandates under new National Anti-Narcotics Policy-2019 to ensurecapacity building and training of government department and agencies.

Training and capacity building forms a very important component of policyon drug control and at present Anti-Narcotics Force Academy conductstraining programmes in drug law enforcement for ANF and other LawEnforcement Agencies (LEAs).

The policy-2019 document showed that the trainingcentres will be identified for drug law enforcement, testing andidentification of drugs, treatment of addictsand personnel working on preventive education and rehabilitation and socialreintegration of drug addicts.

The model training centres so identified willformulate training objectives for various target groups of trainees, designtraining programmes of various durations and prepare training material bothin print andin e-formats.

These centres will also conduct training of trainersprogrammes wherever necessary, regularly conduct trainingprogrammes, develop manuals and handbooks for use infield, document success stories and best practices in anappropriate from and exchange them with its counterpartsin other countries, thus showcasing Pakistan’s experienceand learning from other’s experience, and disseminate thebest practices, success stories, modus operandi use by traffickers, etc.including those received from other countries to field officers who can usethem.
