RIYADH- Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz will oversee theconclusion of the joint military exercise ‘Gulf Shield 1’ on Monday whichtook place over the span of one month with the participation of 24neighboring countries.

The event will also be attended by a number of leaders from participatingcountries who will oversee military parades from various divisions.

The event is meant to showcase the importance of military cooperation andcoordination with friendly countries to protect the security of the region.

The exercise is considered the largest in the region in terms of number oftroops and participating countries. Throughout the exercise they carriedout several possible military scenarios, while updating mechanisms andjoint measures of security and military entities. It was also aimed atstrengthening coordination, cooperation and joint military and securityintegration.

The exercise represents the largest of its kind in the world, where air,land and sea military units from all participating countries were showcased.
