NEW DELHI- Thousands of people have protested across India to seek an endto violence against women.

Protesters marched in New Delhi, Mumbai and other cities today to showtheir anger and express solidarity with victims of violence.

The outrage was triggered by the disgrace and murder of an 8-year-old girlin Indin held Kashmir and the abduction and disgrace of a teenage girl inIndia’s northern Uttar Pradesh state.

Violent crimes against women have been on the rise in India despite toughlaws enacted in 2013.
