The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has sent a summary of thechanges in prices of petroleum products to the Finance Ministry.
According to the details, the summary proposed an increase of Rs. 5 in perlitre price of petrollink basedon the current levy.
OGRA has also proposed to increase the price of high speed light diesel byRs 6 and kerosene by Rs 4.5 per liter. The final decision will be madeafter the approval of the Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The current levy on petrol is Rs 17.97 per liter and diesel is Rs 18.36 perlitre.
In the previous summary sent to the Prime Minister proposed Rs 20.7 paiseincrease in the per litre price of petrol and diesel by Rs 19.61 paise,which was rejected. In the summary, the prices of petroleum products werefixed on the basis of Rs 30 levy per litre.
Let it be known that the government has increased the price of petrol byabout Rs 15 per liter in the last 80 days.
The government had increased the price of petrol by Rs 2.70 per liter inFebruary 2021 while the price of high speed diesel was increased by Rs 2.88per liter. Whereas the price of light diesel was increased by Rs 3 andkerosene by Rs 3.54 per liter.
