ISLAMABAD: Federal government could not lure traders by Tax Amnesty Scheme as only 3205 traders registered themselves so far in the scheme.
As per details, traders are not ready to come in the tax net despite of tax amnesty scheme of federal government. Government could not succeed to encourage 2.8 million traders who are not ready to pay taxes with tax amnesty scheme.
It had been vowed by Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar that at least one million traders would be included in the tax net. Tax amnesty scheme has failed to attract the traders as only 3205 traders paid tax under the scheme against the target of 1 million new tax payers.
The scheme has been extended by government for 6 times but despite of all efforts of government only 9,24,000 have agreed to come in tax net by filing their tax returns.
It was the last day of extension in scheme but only 3205 people have availed it yet.
