Census delayed due to unavailability of Pakistan Army Officials: NA informed

ISLAMABAD: Parliamentary secretary for Finance Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan told the National Assembly that it is not possible for federal government to conduct census without the availability of armed forces officials.

As per details, he was responding to a call attention notice which was moved by Naeema Kishwar Khan and others regarding the postponement of census in NA here at Tuesday.

He said that census has been delayed by government due to the unavailability of Pak Army personnel because Pak Army is busy in operation Zarb-e-Azb to eradicate menace of terrorism from the country.

Rana Afzal made it clear that the matter of census has been discussed in detail in meeting of CCI last month. All the arrangements had been finalized for conduct of census but government had to delay it due to unavailability of security personnel.
