Three Pakistani government officials fired over sexually harassing women at work place

Karachi: Three Pakistani government officials fired over sexually harassingwomen at work place. The provincial ombudsman Sindh has ordered to removethree men from their jobs for harassing women at work place.

The decision was announced in the light of the Protection againstharassment of women at work place Act, 2010.

National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases has terminated the threeemployees named Abdul Latif Dar, Javed Hussain and Mirza Zafar Mahmood.

They have been sentenced over harassing two women working for the sameinstitution.

The ombudsman has also imposed a fine of Rs100,000 on two convicts, whilethe third has been slapped with Rs150,000 fine.

According to the law, every organization in the country is bound to followa code of conduct related to sexual harassment at the workplace.

The organizations are also required to set up a probe team when receive anycomplaint regarding the harassment.

The act further said that if someone is found guilty in the investigation,the final decision is then sent to the ombudsman for legal action.
