Pulwama Attack: India briefs top envoys of leading powers including China against Pakistan

NEW DELHI – A day after Pulwama attack that killed more than 40 CRPFpersonnel diplomacy took centre stage as foreign secretary Vijay Gokhalebriefed envoys of P5 countries, South Asia, Japan, Germany, South Korea onPakistan’s role in the Pulwama terror attack.

ASEAN envoys have been called on Saturday for a briefing.

All the heads of missions were briefed about the role played by Pakistanbased and supported Jaish e Mohammed in the terrorist attack” and “ourdemand that Pakistan ceases forthwith all support and financing to terrorgroups operating from areas under their control.”

Foreign secretary highlighted the role played by “Pakistan in usingterrorism as an instrument of its state policy.

“Indian Foreign Secretary also met the Chinese Ambassador Luo Zhaohui inDelhi and conveyed the Pakistani role in the Pulwama attack. UN-designated terrorist group Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) claimed responsibility for theterror attack.

As part of the cabinet committee on security (CCS) decision, India will betaking action to diplomatically isolate Pakistan.

CCS which was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting on theaftermath of the terror attack on Friday morning.

Briefing the media after Cabinet Committee on Security, Finance ministerArun Jaitley said, “MEA will initiate all possible steps and I am referringto all possible diplomatic steps which have to be taken to ensure thecomplete isolation of Pakistan from the international community for havinga direct hand in this incident”
