Malaysia makes big imports offer to Pakistan

RAWALPINDI – A six-member trade delegation of Malaysia visited RawalpindiChamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) headed by Rosin AlRehman, CEOAntahraya here on Tuesday.The purpose of their visit was to explore opportunities forbusiness collaborations in different sectors includingGlass, Timber, Halal Food and SMEs etc.Speaking at the occasion, Rosin AlRehman said that Pakistan andMalaysia have good potential to enhance cooperation in many fields and bothcountries should encourage frequent exchange of trade delegations to exploreall untapped areas of potential cooperation.“ Halal Foods is a big market and Malaysia is importing Halalmeat from non-Muslim countries including India. We want to export Halalmeat from Pakistan, a brother Muslim country, and we had visited differentlocal food companies for possible joint ventures in Halal food,” he added.Similarly, tourism, Timber and Glass are another sectors wherePakistani traders can explore new avenues of cooperation with Malaysiancounterparts.He also appreciated RCCI contribution towards trade activitiesand close ties between the business communities of the two countries throughexchange of delegations.Earlier, RCCI Acting President Muhammad Fayyaz Qureshi in hiswelcome address, said that Pakistan has favorable environment for foreigndirect investment (FDIs) and urged the Malaysian delegation to invest injointventures in food sector.He also highlighted the key initiatives of RCCI in promotingtrade activities in the region and said that our ultimate goal was tointeractwith local and international trade partners to have more investment in thecountry.

Halal Food is a big market and both Pakistan and Malaysia can improveties and shared their experiences, in cattle farming, modern slaughter houseand frozen meat.
