ISLAMABAD: The forensic report and the DNA test of the little victim Zainaband the suspects involved in the rape, murder case have revealed some newfacts about the killer.
Killer of the little girl, Zainab, who was brutally murdered after sexualassault in Kasur, does not seem to be a serial killer, says chief of aforensic laboratory on Monday.
Dr. Tahir Ashraf, DG Forensic Lab said the DNA of Zainab’s killer did notmatch that of anyone else; hence, he does not appear to be a serial killer.
Dr. Tahir said, “We have DNAs of serial killers,” adding the culprit inZainab incident will be captured if he is in Kasur.
Little Zainab went missing on January 4. Her body with torture marks wasfound dumped at a garbage pile on Road Kot area of Kasur, five days afterher disappearance.
Conducting the probe of the murder of little girl, the investigators haveinterviewed a lot of local people in this connection and compiled separatelists of people considered positive and negative. A lot others have beenmade to have DNA test. However, the killer is still at large.
The law enforcement agencies failed to get any major success to arrest theculprit involved in rape and murder of the minor girl.
Earlier, police released two new images of suspects. One clearer picture ofthe suspect, who was supposedly seen with Zainab in a footage, was releasedearlier this week.
Punjab Inspector General (IG) Arif Nawaz assured that police would soonapprehend the culprit as all agencies were working towards the goal, butadmitted that “there has been no major breakthrough so far”.
The process of DNA test of the suspects is underway.
The joint investigation team (JIT) is probing into the rape and murder caseof Zainab and eleven other children before her in Kasur.
